Snow Trucks, 30 x 40, oil on linen

This is something a little different for me. I was drawn to this scene by the strong shadow family of blue and orange – a complementary combination. The light family was also the background so it made for an interesting juxtaposition of light and dark. The location is near my studio in an industrial/warehouse area.

  1. Hi Ron! This painting is awesome. I realize that I haven't seen you in a while -- I hope you're doing well, and finding many stunning views to capture, with all the snow we've been having this winter. The other week, every single branch was coated in a layer of ice. On my way to school, I walked by a huge Ford pick-up truck completely covered by a bamboo grove that fell from the ice's weight. The sun was just peeking out at dawn and created glimmers in the otherwise hoary walk up the hill. Lovely.

Seth is in Dallas for the Superbowl this weekend!
